The pressure vacuum pump operator is able to carry out all forms of pressure vacuum work in accordance to the SIR guidelines.
During the execution of the work, you are the responsible person, you give the correct work instructions to the employees and you are the contactperson for third parties.
At the end of the course you will be able to properly interpret a work permit, you will know how to select the right working method and you will know all the actions required to carry out the work safely.
The course and the SIR exam consist of a theoretical and a practical part. In this course we use the SIR pressure vacuum cleaning manual.
Renew your certificate?
From September 1, 2024, new SIR guidelines are applied and the trainings and the SIR exams for Pressure Vacuum are updated. That is why, from that date, the ‘extenders’ will also follow the full 3-day training and take a theory and practical exam (SIR requirement).
In the overview below, the SIR has shown the changes as of September 2024 that relate to pressure vacuum training, exams and certificates (this overview is only available in Dutch):

In addition to Dutch, the SIR exam (digital) can also be taken in English, German or French. Our courses are taught in Dutch as standard. In consultation this is also possible in other languages. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

COURSE SPECIFICATIONS
The duration of the course is 3 days (SIR requirement) including the SIR exam. SIR exam will be done on day 3 in the afternoon. The course and the exam will take place at our SIR certified training location in Stellendam (near Rotterdam).
For Pressure Vacuum Pump Operator candidates, the SIR applies the following certification requirements:
- to be at least 18 years of age
- to be at least 3 months in possession of a SIR certificate Pressure Vacuum Assistant, or a SIR certificate Pressure Vacuum Pump Operator that has expired less than 6 months ago
- to be in possession of a valid VCA
- to be in possession of a valid identification document
SIR exam PVPO
The SIR exam Pressure Vacuum Pump Operator (PVPO) consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theory exam are 30 multiple choice questions. During the practical exam the candidate has to carry out a practical based assignment in accordance with the SIR guidelines.
SIR certificate PVPO
When you have passed the SIR exam, you will receive the SIR certificate for Pressure Vacuum Pump Operator. The certificate has a validity of 5 years.
EXTENSION SIR CERTIFICATE PVPO - not (yet) applicable

Languages

Course Material
The course is based on the SIR manual pressure vacuum cleaning. We will send you the manual digitally as soon as the registration has been processed.
REGISTER
The course duration is 3 days, the SIR exam is taken on day 3 in the afternoon. The course and the exam take place at our SIR recognized training location in Stellendam (near Rotterdam). Lunch is provided.
