Basic course for people who perform work under conditions that analysis has shown to be of medium to high acute risk (SIR risk category B).

During this course you will be trained by the experienced instructor, based on the requirements set by SIR, for the Respiratory Protection B (RPB) certificate.

Respiratory Protection B

It is a practice-oriented training. In addition to the general knowledge about the use of respiratory protective equipment (dependent and independent), the candidate is specifically instructed and trained in handling the equipment that he will use in practice. Fitting and wearing a mask is a crucial part of training. The course has been developed in accordance with the SIR guidelines and based on the SIR Respiratory Protection Manual.

When working with nitrogen or under IDL conditions (life-threatening), respiratory protection C is required.

In addition to Dutch, the SIR exam (digital) can also be taken in English, German or French. Our courses are taught in Dutch as standard. Other languages upon request. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

COURSE SPECIFICATIONS

The duration of the course is 2,5 days. The SIR exam will be done on day 3 in the morning. Both the practical part and the theoretical part of the exam will take place at our SIR certified training location in Stellendam (near Rotterdam).

For Respiratory Protection B candidates, the SIR applies the following certification requirements:

  • to be at least 18 years of age
  • to be in possession of a valid identification document
  • to be in possession of a valid medical certificate
  • the face must be clean shaven
  • having completed the Respiratory Protection B (RPB) SIR course
Respiratory Protection B

SIR exam RPB

The SIR Respiratory Protection B exam consists of a theory and a practical part. Theoretical knowledge is tested by means of 30 multiple choice questions.

Languages

The course is based on the SIR manual Respiratory Protection. We will send you the manual digitally as soon as the registration has been processed.
